Snapshot 49 No.490-499
499.@Sijyukara
Sijyukara's chicks usually leave the nest around this time. This year, however, they have just started making the nest.
They lay moss about 5 cm thick and Jiro's hair on it about 1 cm thick, and make a small dent, and raise the chicks.

498. Funato-bridge

Funato-bridge replacement work finally finished.
Although the work took years, the sidewalk is on one side only.

There should be no
bati ga ataru (incur a divine punishment) at all, even if the sidewalks are built on both sides, cosidering the future. Well, this too, might not be anything the aged person complains about this and that.
497. Saboten

Good weather made the
saboten have a flower.

496. Kingyo

A
kingyo, under the fresh green at my place, looks fine today too.
When they are small, occasionally cats around here bring them somewhere. However once they become large enough, cats seem not to dare anymore.

495. Water plant

This is today's
medaka basin placed at the window.
Probably because of the good weather, the water plant in the basin was actively producing bubbles.

494. Katabami
=2021-04-12/13 mon/tue canon ixy digi55=
At this time of year,
katabami is blooming here and there at my place.
The flowers are pretty. While if left there as they are, they spread horizontally more and more. Even if we get rid of the leaves, they grow endlessly.
The right photo shows their whole structure after being dug up. As in the photo, the upper part spreads horizontally, and the root going down is thick like a
gobou, and further a thin root goes down. The shape resembles that of scorpion.
No wonder they grow endlessly even if the leaves are picked up repeatedly.
493. Kiji-bato

A
kiji-bato came to my place today too.
It comes always with another one. After drinking the water in a goldfish pond, they walk back and forth, and go to the neighbour.

492. Hotoke-no-za
Hotoke-no-za (the seat of Buddha's statue) seen at a nearby roadside.
The origin of this name can be best understood when it does not fully grow, as in this photo.
=2021-03-11 thu sharp aquos sh-01l =
When it matures, the reason of its another name,
san-gai-gusa (three-tier herb) is best observed.
The "
hotoke-no-za" appearing in the traditional seven kinds of spring herbs, is actually an another type, now called "ko-oni-tabirako", and not the "
hotoke-no-za" in the picture. It is indeed confusing.
491. Comrades

March bigins from today. This is a photo of Jiro's morning walk converted into a sketch style.
When Jiro meets the group of children going to school, he always joins them and continues to walk with a happy look. He looks to think they are his comrades.

490. Kobusi or Mokuren?
Kobusi or mokuren seen at the morning walk.
The buds are biginning to swell.
